Since 2003 Olivia has called Edmonds and the Pacific Northwest her home. Here is where she pursued and developed her artistic talents attending art classes at Edmonds Community College; focusing on drawing and painting, and developing techniques in her favorite mediums: pastels, acrylics and oils.
She spent several years in the Amazon Jungle, managing her resort hotel. There she learned about the land's ancient ancestral culture, and expressions of indigenous art, additionally she immersed herself in the magical soul of nature; finding herself in the middle of a symphony of sounds, lights, colors, and life.
Having lived in some of the most remarkable European cities in France, England and Spain, gave Olivia access to the best museums and art galleries where she admired and where she was inspired by the works of old classics, contemporary masterpieces, and the artists behind them. These immersive experiences are subliminally reflected in her artwork.
As an artist, her desire is to transmit to the viewer the beauty and peaceful communion she feels when she is creating her paintings, and to share the silent space where you find your real self. Olivia's paintings are of oneiric realism, inspired in nature: skies, sea, mountains, with special attention to clouds and the mood they represent, being dramatic or serene.

Epulo Bistro // Becca Lavin, Wendy Rader-Konofalski & Laura Steeves
190 Sunset Ave, open Sunday - Thursday 4-8:30pm , Friday - Saturday 3-9:30pm
SEE ART ALL MONTH DURING BUSINESS HOURS AND ART WALK ON APRIL 17TH 5-8PM
Becca Lavin started painting in 2020 when her 20 year old private massage therapy practice closed its doors for the last time. Becca's art is mainly abstract or representational abstract using every medium that is within reach. It is restless, colorful and textured with a mind of its own. If there is a theme, she hasn't found it yet. Perhaps, Freedom. By the time she finishes a painting there is usually a deep understanding that has surfaced, for her. She leaves the rest to the observer as that is one of the magical things about abstract. The utter subjectiveness of what comes through to the observer.
Wendy Rader-Konofalski is a local artist who started painting later in life. A brush with death and seven weeks in the hospital and a long recovery may have worked a form of magic on her brain that opened up a portal into a creativity that she never knew existed. Wendy paints on canvas with acrylics, but often use mixed media elements such as charcoal and ink. She enjoys including collage in her work. She paints abstract works and landscapes as well as small florals. Wendy views her work as a sort of symbiotic relationship: herself as artist, and you as viewer.
Laura Steeves unearths an innate love of vibrant bold colors and unworldly elements, reminiscent of her childhood in Colombia. She works with mixed media via an intuitive process that has no plan or end goal in mind but rather sets an intention to evoke some deeper meaning in herself and others. She uses color to reveal those hidden things and texture to emphasize them, merging them into a bigger, livening story. Each corner of her works begins, at one part of that story and at some other inevitable point they collapse and coalesce into one another. Her works are a symbol of time and expression over a lifetime.
Gallery North // Leanna Leitzke
401 Main St, open 11am-5pm daily
SEE ART ALL MONTH DURING BUSINESS HOURS AND ART WALK ON APRIL 17TH 5-8PM
As exuberant as her delightful, richly colored and whimsical paintings, Leanna Leitzke presents her show: “Connections through Art”. Leanna has been painting since she was three years old.
The most important role of art for Leanna is freedom of expression. “I found out from those early readings that very often art teachers limit their students by teaching them certain rules, which could prevent them from being fearless and developing their own unique artistic eye and technique. For this reason, it came to me that I should be self-taught.”
Leanna’s work has won awards in numerous juried exhibits and have found homes in Paris, London, eastern Europe, and all over the States. “The clock is ticking, I’m in a hurry! All my most beautiful paintings are yet to come. They are there in my mind, ready to go . . .”
A reception with the artist will be held at Gallery North on Saturday, April 5, from 1-4. You can also meet Leanna at Third Thursday ArtWalk on April 17th from 5-8 pm.
