Drake Nailon is a local photographer and artist behind AutoFocusArts, born in Seattle and considers the Puget Sound area his home. Having a lifelong passion for all things automotive that has shaped the direction his art has taken. Compelled to capture the often-overlooked details and passion hidden in plain sight, Drake finds beauty in the curves and shapes that create reflection and capture your attention and imagination. His photos draw the eye to the subtle details that even the owners of these automobiles sometimes miss. His work spans a variety of mediums, such as photography, acrylics, watercolor, and collage. He believes that working in a single medium is restrictive to his artistic process, each idea manifesting in its own individual style. Drake playfully refers to his subjects as rolling sculpture, his work, automotive portraiture, his eye drawn to hidden detail, to the reflection and form found within the automobile. Drake passion is capturing something unusual and sharing it with the viewer.

Shawl We Knit Again is a collection of hand knitted shawls created by Bethany Harper of SethanyKnits. Bethany is a local Fiber Artist who has been using yarn as her medium for creative expression for over 30 years. These shawls are representative of her eye for color combinations mixed with exciting patterns to create bold accessories. The shawls were knit with hand dyed yarn. Each pattern has varying degrees of complexity and takes hours to complete.
Knitting is a passion and a vital activity that keeps Bethany’s neurodivergent mind engaged with the world around her. Stitching keeps her hands busy and allows her brain to be quiet and focused. For that reason, Bethany always has a project with her and is almost “never not knitting.” Her Butterfly Shawl (which will be at Edmonds Vision Center on or around September 4th) is currently on display at the Evergreen State Fair in Monroe, WA.

Koenig Financial Group (Securities and Advisory Services offered through Harbour Investments, Inc. Member SIPC) is proud to partner with the Edmonds College Art Department to bring Edmonds College artists to Art Walk Edmonds.
Shivam Bhardwaj is a self-taught artist who primarily works with oil paint and charcoal mediums. He has been drawing since he was a kid and started painting a few years ago. He focuses on all aspects of “painting”. He has done portraits and abstract work. He gathers his inspiration from other great artists. He learns by replicating their style and implementing it to his ideas. He enjoys the challenge of replication. The main thing that drives him is the idea of creating something out of nothing. In the future, he wants to try landscape painting and sculpting. Shivam is a graduate of Edmonds College. He currently tutors EC students and will begin independent studies with an EC Art Department faculty member in the fall.
Vey Reutov is an emerging artist with a fire for depicting fiction and surrealism into her artwork. Her creations are a manifestation of dream-like imagery that transports the viewer into a fairytale world. Her show, “Grown By the Light of the Moon,'' is a body of work comprised of her own fairytales: A woman growing amongst strawberries, an apparitional wisp who sleeps besides the highway bog, a witch who can grow pumpkins into people, and other curiously surreal tales. Vey has written accompanying short stories that will be displayed alongside each corresponding piece. Though Vey’s first love is illustration, her second love is creative writing. This show combines the two mediums into a playful display of storytelling.

She'd watched her grandmother sew complete wedding ensembles as a child, but didn't learn how to sew from her. But she felt pretty sure she could come up with something that would work. And she did! She liked it, too. Denise continued sewing for several years when she decided to pursue it more rigorously. Now a graduate from Seattle Central College's design school, she is releasing her initial collection to the world - in Edmonds!
