Amanda Thornton-DeWitt has been taking photographs ever since she could hold a camera. Born near the Appalachian Mountains in northeast Alabama, Thornton-DeWitt grew up surrounded by nature. After receiving scholarships to local colleges, she realized she wanted to travel. Thornton-DeWitt joined the Navy as the seventh woman to be a damage controlman for the military branch, bringing her to Bremerton. She met and fell in love with her now-husband, and then moved to Shoreline. Tying back to her love of nature, she attended the College of Forest Resources at the University of Washington and became an environmental scientist for a local environmental consulting firm. This, she said, is when the photography “bug” bit her. Join us on the Third Thursday for Art Walk. You can meet Amanda and take tour with a museum Ambassador.

Pam Ingalls has been venturing through the world with her paint brush, rendering in her beautiful, lush oil-painting style the faces of people in communities as far flung as India, Africa and New Zealand.

Pam states, “Since 2007 I’ve presented an annual portrait exhibition of 40-50 people in my Vashon Island community, as well as small communities far away - like Three Hills, Jamaica; Nome, Alaska; Comalapa, Guatemala; Shillong, India; Mara Hills, Kenya; Auckland, NZ - and Turin House in NYC. Not only have I gotten to meet and paint hundreds of incredible people all over the world, I have also had the privilege of presenting these lovely souls to others. I’ve always been interested in seeing beauty in the ordinary. It’s hard to miss the beauty in “ordinary” people – no matter where they live. Every single person is extraordinary! And as I paint them, I keep learning more about my journey to see and tell the truth with integrity.”

Show runs February 15th - March 18th.

These creations are a mix of Mandalas, science-fiction, and sacred geometry; all wrapped up in a thick skin of leather, for protection. 201 5th Ave S, open Monday - Friday 9am-5pm, Saturday 9am-2pm
SEE ART ALL MONTH DURING BUSINESS HOURS ONLY

Vicki is a Northwest native, residing in Edmonds and a participating artist at Graphite Arts Center in downtown Edmonds. She is drawn to the simplicity of form, shadow and light in the way it reflects or illuminates a subject. So it begins, always exploring, looking beyond what is seen at first glance, into the subtle nuances usually in nature that can lead to expressions in the abstract. It is most often in the unseen where the true essence of a living thing is found. Capturing these moments in images that communicate what I see and feel is always the challenge. To draw a similar response or curiosity from those who view her work is the reward.

Epulo Bistro // Becca Lavin

190 Sunset Ave, open Sunday - Thursday 4-8:30pm , Friday - Saturday 3-9:30pm
SEE ART ALL MONTH DURING BUSINESS HOURS AND ART WALK ON FEBRUARY 15TH 5-8PM

Becca Lavin started painting in 2020 when her 20 year old private massage therapy practice closed its doors for the last time. Becca's art is mainly abstract or representational abstract using every medium that is within reach. It is restless, colorful and textured with a mind of its own. If there is a theme, she hasn't found it yet. Perhaps, Freedom. By the time she finishes a painting there is usually a deep understanding that has surfaced, for her. She leaves the rest to the observer as that is one of the magical things about abstract. The utter subjectiveness of what comes through to the observer. "I love that about abstract!"
