Paintings of mood, atmosphere, and emotion. Throughout her life Andrea has been drawn to nature and making images. She is a contemporary oil painter living in the Pacific NW where she finds inspiration for her paintings.
Art is a visual language. The artist communicates their concept and feeling, their intent, to the viewer through the painting. A strong foundation in drawing was her first experiences with teachers and in workshops. It is the basis for all her art works. She continues to learn from and study current, and old master, artists. "We never stop learning, it is a wonderful process and journey". Although she has worked in many mediums, oil paints are her preferred materials, using the rich colors and varying textures to create places where we would all like to go. Andrea enjoys teaching and sharing her work in exhibits. Whether outside in nature or in the meditative solitude of her studio, art is her passion.

SEE ART ALL MONTH DURING BUSINESS HOURS ONLY

Robin Jordan is a self-taught artist. She is originally from Denver, Colorado, and have been in Washington State since 1980. She has always loved art since kindergarten, and came back to art in her thirties when she found herself bored and needed to find a new groove. She remembered she liked to draw, so she bought some canvases, a paint set, and brushes and has not stopped since.

Robin’s faceless art is about her family, friends, and things she’s done and seen. Why faceless? It tells more stories about the artwork. The bold bright colors and movements illustrate how that person feels. Her work has been shown in Washington’s art galleries, Northwest African American Museum, and juried art shows. She has won awards for subject matter to demonstrations of colors. Her work has been published as front covers of booklets and forms.

Gallery North // Ben Groff

401 Main St, open 11am-5pm daily
SEE ART ALL MONTH DURING BUSINESS HOURS AND ART WALK ON APRIL 20TH 5-8PM

New Paintings: Continuity and Change by Ben Groff. From an early age, Ben Groff drew pictures in pencil, continuing into his mature years.  When he finally came to painting in oils, this emphasis on clarity of line and form carried on into the new medium and he found himself to be by nature a realistic artist.  But realism must never be an end in itself; rather the brush must adapt itself to the object and the object to the brush so that a deeper sense of the reality of the scene can emerge.  Above all Ben seeks to work with heightened color and light to express the spiritual essence that he finds in that sudden, transitory moment of illumination the image contains, making it permanent.

Her personal interest is purely visual, but the metaphorical content is not lost to her. Despite the ongoing uncertainty, she says one can find hope. Our resilience lifts us to create, and to enjoy art, music, poetry and all that enriches our lives.

Through the years Kamada's work has evolved from traditional oil painting, including landscape and still life, to abstract forms in a variety of media. After receiving an MA in Studio Arts/Painting from Marshall University, she taught public school art and workshops for adults, entering graphic design mid-career. Originally from New Jersey, she has enjoyed life on both U.S. coasts—from New York to California, as well as the Pacific Northwest and Canada. Her work is in both private and public collections, and has appeared in films. She’s happily painting most days in her studio in Bellingham, WA.

Salish Insurance Group is proud to be the first to publicly exhibit Alexander's works, which include bold, abstract acrylic and oil paintings as well as renders from the open-source 3D modeling software, Blender.

Alexander considers himself somewhat a perfectionist. His art is the rebellion against that perfectionism. He draws lines and hopes for the best, allowing himself freedom. Seeing his mistakes, and allowing them to be beautiful in their own way. Alexander calls his work “a mess” pretty often. But, within that mess, is what he is told is an expression of himself. He has been his harshest critic for as long as he can remember.

Landscapes are made from memories of time, and the primal longing to get outside.

Windermere Real Estate // David Horsley

210 5th Avenue S, open 9am -5pm daily
SEE ART ALL MONTH DURING BUSINESS HOURS AND ART WALK ON APRIL 20TH 5-8PM

David Horsley is native to Seattle and has been receiving traditional material of the region all of his life through family and friends. He has been dancing in the Northwest tradition since childhood. He is active in his native community and currently teaches the Snoqualmie youth "old ways." He has demonstrated dance, song, and art throughout the area and believes that "If we keep our art for ourselves it will die; if we share it with the world it will live forever." In the dual capacity of artist and educator, he helps to enlighten others through a variety of activities with stone, silver, ivory, wood and acrylics. He is currently in the process of authoring and illustrating three more publications on the Upper Salish. The most significant refinements in David's work has been the recognition of consistent patterning by fives. Unlike the northern people who pattern by fours, the Upper Salish pattern many activities and art forms by fives: song dot patterns; design motifs; ceremonial repetition. David's carving career began in 1976 with the production of many dance masks. In 1986 he entered some pieces in the Sacred Circle Gallery. In 1989 he was asked by his friends to direct the Snoqualmie Dance Troupe, as part of the Washington Centennial Project. Today he carves and researches material at the University of Washington and various historical locations in King County.
